Units take turns performing one move and one action (in that order). The remaining number of fighters in a unit is displayed below it. It’s like taking on regular jobs if you were an actual adventuring party in a fantasy world, and I love it. As a travelling adventuring party, you must take on jobs and traverse the world to go and complete them. The story of this game is very much what you make of it.
Its slimline and tasteful, and I couldn’t be happier with it. They keep things simple but interesting, by providing you only with the information you need, and don’t clog the screen up with tips, control reminders, 5 different gauges that slowly fill up, alongside everyone’s hit point bar. The User Interface is very friendly and easy to use, and the overall presentation of the game is absolutely something to write home about. Your characters are simple 2D renditions of adventurers and they are color coded orange, green, blue, and purple to make sure that you do not get confused and wind up losing you avatar in the middle of a particularly nasty fight. The art style to this game is very cute and quite simple. Doing this provides you with bonuses that can provide you a substantial boon before undertaking one of the games many raids.
BRAVELAND GAMEPLAY UPGRADE
This aspect of the game is reminiscent of Darkest Dungeon.Īlongside the battles, you will also be able to restore your castle and upgrade it so it becomes an abode fit for a high class adventuring party. That might seem strange but it happens sometimes. Alternatively, it could be you discovering the inn-keep is a werewolf. This could be elves revealing a secret path, cutting your travel time down. This simple mechanic ensures that no two quests are ever identical.
BRAVELAND GAMEPLAY GENERATOR
You adventure can be endless, so you will be able to keep playing over and over again, allowing the random encounter generator to keep things interesting. That is a lot of the gameplay, but not all of it. The majority of gameplay is taken up by the players taking control of a characters and then picking their weapon to destroy the waves of incoming enemies. Knights of Braveland has a tried and tested gameplay that you have likely seen before in other titles specifically, Castle crashers and Alien Hominid. Long gone are the days of everyone swinging swords in unison for party brawlers, Knights of Braveland allows you to mix things up and undergo a far more adventure. With over a hundred different pieces of equipment ranging from swords and spears to magic staffs and strength gauntlets, you can create a warrior that has the damage output you want with your weapon of choice.
